Milan resident Joseph White, 53, was arrested shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, after a deputy sheriff on patrol on Route 199 in Milan found him operating a lawn tractor on the highway with an open alcoholic beverage in tow, Dutchess County Sheriff Lt. Frank LaMonica, Jr. said. During the stop, it was determined that LaMonica was allegedly intoxicated.

LaMonica said that further investigation found that White’s driving privileges had been revoked due to a prior DWI conviction and he had two active suspensions on his license. White also had an ignition device restriction for any motor vehicle he operated.

White was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without a court-ordered ignition device. He was also cited for having an open container in a motor vehicle and depositing refuse on a highway, both traffic infractions.

Following his processing, White was released and scheduled to appear in the Town of Milan Court on Saturday, June 29.
